TechGuruPlus.com respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Site to do the same. This page explains how to report material that you believe infringes your copyright, and what happens after you do.
Our position on copyright
Almost everything published on this Site is created in-house. Where a file relates to a third party — a bank form, a Tally add-on, a Microsoft Office format — it is published to help users locate and work with a document they are already entitled to use, and no ownership of the underlying brand, form or software is claimed.
Some articles on this Site are contributed by third parties. Contributors confirm that their submissions are original, but we cannot independently verify every claim. If a contributed article reproduces your work without permission, please report it using the process below and we will act on it.
How to file a copyright complaint
If you own the copyright in material published on this Site, or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf, send us a written notice containing all of the following:
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed. If several works are involved, a list is sufficient.
- The exact URL or URLs on TechGuruPlus.com where the material appears, so that we can locate it. Please give the direct link to the page or file, not just the home page.
- Evidence that you own the work or are authorised to act — for example, the original publication URL, a registration number, or a link to the original file.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

Notices sent by email are acted on fastest. Incomplete notices — particularly those without a specific URL — cannot be processed, and we will write back asking for the missing details.
What happens next
We acknowledge every complete notice, normally within three working days.
Where a complaint is clear, we remove or disable access to the material promptly, usually within seven working days of receiving a valid notice. We will tell you when this has been done.
Where a complaint is unclear or disputed, we may ask you for further information before acting, and we may contact whoever submitted the material.
Repeat infringement by a contributor results in the removal of all of their content from the Site and a permanent ban on further submissions.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe this was a mistake — for example because you hold the rights, or because the use was permitted by law — you may send a counter-notice to the same address. Include:
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We will forward a valid counter-notice to the original complainant. If the matter cannot be resolved between the parties, it becomes a dispute between them, and we may restore the material unless we are told that legal proceedings have been started.
A note on false claims
Submitting a copyright complaint about material you do not own, or that you know is not infringing, may expose you to liability for damages and legal costs. Please be sure of your claim before sending a notice.
Before you file
Many issues are resolved faster with a short email than with a formal notice. If you would simply like a file corrected, credited differently, or taken down, write to us and say so. We take these requests seriously and usually act on them the same week.
