Documents You Will Need

Transfer certificate from the present college
Migration certificate, if you are moving to a different university
Character certificate
Marksheets of all completed semesters or years
Fee clearance receipt or no-dues certificate
Admission confirmation letter from the new college, if already received

Points to Keep in Mind

Apply as early as you can, since transfer certificates often take a week or more to issue. Clear all pending fees and library dues first, as most colleges will not release documents otherwise. Keep the reason honest and brief — a long explanation does not help. If you are transferring to a college under a different university, ask specifically for the migration certificate, because it is issued separately and is easy to forget.
