What is Axis Bank Family Banking?
Family banking lets you group the accounts of your family members under one relationship. The balances of all grouped accounts are counted together to meet the average balance requirement, so a member holding a small balance is not charged separately. The group also shares the benefits of the highest account category held by any member, such as debit card limits, locker discounts and fee waivers.
Who Can Be Added to the Group
Immediate family members can be grouped — spouse, parents, children, brothers and sisters. Each member must hold an Axis Bank savings account in their own name, and every member has to sign the form giving consent to be part of the group. One member is marked as the primary account holder for the relationship.
How to Fill the Form
Fill the form in black ink and capital letters. You will need the customer ID and account number of each member, their relationship with the primary holder, and the signature of every person being grouped. The primary account holder signs in the section marked for the anchor customer. Do not use correction fluid — if you make a mistake, print a fresh copy.
Where to Submit
Print the completed form and submit it at the Axis Bank branch where the primary account is held, along with a copy of the identity proof of each member. The grouping usually reflects within a few working days, after which the combined balance is considered for all members.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there any charge for family banking?
Grouping the accounts is free. Charges apply only as per the account category assigned to the group.
Can a member leave the group later?
Yes. A written request at the branch is enough to de-link an account from the group.
Can I submit this form online?
No. It needs signatures of all members, so it has to be printed and submitted at the branch.
